The Mystics are a psychedelic rock band from Barrie ON. Comprised of 5 members, their music combines hard hitting southern blues riffs with ambient melodic breakdowns and roaring rock vocals. Their sound is a blend of classic and modern rock, inspired by bands such as The Doors, Pink Floyd, The Guess Who, Deep Purple, The Tragically Hip, and Radiohead.
Coming off a summer/fall tour, this powerhouse group is making waves in the Ontario music scene, performing at sold out venues (The Cameron House, The Foxx Lounge) and at music festivals (Kempenfest, Cornstock 2018, Barrie Jazz & Blues Festival). After releasing their debut single Desert Ritual and gaining commercial airplay on their hometown radio station Rock 95, The Mystics are busy in the studio preparing for their album release in Spring 2019.
“When one thinks of psychedelic rock, they don’t often think Barrie ON. The Mystics are looking to change that.” – Curtis Morgan The Mob’s Press “The Mystics reach back to a simpler, psychedelic time. – Raymond Bowe Barrie Today. When watching them perform, you are reminded of a time when going to a rock concert meant something, like being transported back to the 1970’s. Their live performances are a journey of mind bending guitar solos, raging organ riffs, groovy bass lines, and sexy blues vocals. Whether it’s their authentic storytelling, catchy melodies or strung out slide guitar, these guys are charismatic on stage and instantly appeal to a wide range of music lovers. “That eclectic mix comes through like a mofo bursting out your speakers…Book them now, they WILL blow up. They are that good.” – Curtis Morgan The Mobs Press
